Out of boot
Grealish (foot) is out of his walking boot and doing some training, according to manager David Moyes. "It's improving greatly - he's out of the boot he was wearing now and he's doing a lot more training."
Analysis: Grealish is seeing some good progress this week, as it has been confirmed that the attacker is out of his walking boot, a huge step in his return. This should set him up to start training and working on fitness soon, leaving him available for the preseason camps and games. He will now be focused on a permanent move to the club, as talks will likely begin following the season, with Grealish no longer with a spot in the City squad but excelling in his first year with the Toffees.
Recovery progressing well
Grealish (foot) expressed confidence in his recovery, according to the club. "I feel really good in myself now. I had a zoom call with the surgeon, who said it couldn't be looking any better at this stage"
Analysis: Grealish's positive update is an encouraging sign after he underwent surgery on a stress fracture in his left foot in January, ending his season prematurely. The attacker scored two goals and added six assists over 20 league appearances before the injury struck, underlining the significant impact his absence had on Everton's attack. While he will not feature again this campaign, the surgeon's glowing assessment of his progress suggests he should be well positioned to return to full fitness ahead of next season.
